Wasilla is a growing area in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley, about 42 miles north of Anchorage. It is the largest community in the Mat-Su Valley. There is a wide variety of dining options, gas stations, lodgings, major-chain retail stores, supermarkets, laundromats, an ice arena, sports complex and several area parks.
